Our mission
We’re here to spread the word that greyhounds make great pets, and encourage more people to adopt them.
Long Dog Club is raising awareness for greyhound welfare on social media and building a positive, inclusive community for people who love long dogs. We're proud to support greyhound welfare, and we donate a dollar from every item sold in our store to a greyhound rescue, to support more dogs like Chilli find their own loving homes.
The reality for greyhounds
Greyhounds are gentle, sensitive, and deeply loving dogs — but when they’re treated as commodities for dog racing, their welfare suffers. As the rest of the world moves away from dog racing, Australia continues to breed greyhounds at an unsustainable rate, leaving many without safe homes. Rescues are chronically under-resourced and in need of support, with volunteers working tirelessly to transition dogs into family life.
Greyhounds are easy to fall in love with but many people never get the chance – which is what we're trying to change. Coming along to a community event is a great chance to meet a greyhound and learn more about the breed! You can also help out by considering adoption, fostering, volunteering, sponsoring or just by spreading the word.
