What's the purpose of the event calendar?
We want to connect dog lovers with more opportunities to enjoy the company of greyhounds outside of a racing context. We hope that it will encourage people to adopt greyhounds or socialise their sighthounds with other likeminded people.
Do you post greyhound racing events?
We’re passionate about giving people options to engage with greyhounds outside of a racing environment.
No racing events or organisations directly associated with the industry will be published. However, we may make exceptions for events we feel are in the best interests of the dogs – for example, rehoming events like adoption days. Long Dog Club will always be pro-dog, anti-animal racing.
Are there other restrictions on which events are posted?
Right now, we’re just focusing on events that are accessible within Australia so if your event is happening internationally, it won’t be shared on the events page. However if you submit an event, we may still share it on our social media for our international audience.
We may not be able to post every event that is shared with us. We appreciate your understanding.
No racing events will be posted.
I have a recurring event. Do I need to share it again?
Nope! Let us know if your event happens regularly and we will update the calendar accordingly.
Who maintains the calendar?
Chilli the Greyhound and his mum, Kayley run Long Dog Club & maintain the national events calendar. We lean on the community to let us know when events are happening & update us as details change.
